Re: Russell Brand, Legend or Loon?
He’s a narcissistic loon - but I like his sense of anarchy, and ability to burst egotistical bubbles (like those of US TV presenters).

Life would be dull if at least some of these people didn’t exist.

Re: Russell Brand, Legend or Loon?
He has a wife and children now, and this new 'Guru' incarnation of himself is thankfully more family friendly, but probably tickling the same receptors as the booze and drugs used to. A kind of progress. And not everything he says is nonsense. Biggest thing in his favour is he isn't where he is due to nepotism.

Re: Russell Brand, Legend or Loon?
Clearly intelligent and obviously knows his stuff. Very articulate but I think over-uses his articulation to be look and sound more intelligent than he is.

I like his sense of anarchy doubled with his obvious knowledge of the matter he speaks about. It often confuses the person he's debating with. Often TV presenters, politicians or big-wigs that need taking down a peg.

Met him at a work party (long story, many years ago)

Blokes an absolute PRICK

Re: Russell Brand, Legend or Loon?
Brand has captured a reasonably broad church of fans by pointing out corporate and government collusion that is almost certainly not in the benefit of the average person in an entertaining way.
He himself is on the left, like me, but realises there is nothing to be gained from being partisan when the policies only end up supporting the corpocracy and their government enablers.

My only issue is in the end he will be making money from his chosen current path and he openly admits there will always be a risk he could still be part of the problem.

However, I read a George Monibot take down of him in the Guardian a couple of days ago and a Telegraph take down of him a couple of months ago so he’s clearly doing a brilliant job.

Keep it up don!

He was always going to be a target once he went against the narrative on covid.

I don't mind him. He, sensibly, attempts to find common ground, rather than constantly arguing his point until he's blue in the face.

Re: Russell Brand, Legend or Loon?
I think he is articulate and backs up a lot of the points he makes with specific reasoning/evidence which is way more than those in the msm do. He is however a bit of a conspirloon. Overall I like him

He's the Fox news of the far left who has replaced heroin addiction with clicks and likes on his You tube channel. Proper cult leader material

"He's the Fox news of the far left"

I'm always curious how people form their opinions.

How come the Guardian and its left wing writers are absolutely threatened by him and describe him as a conspiracy theorist with right wing agendas?

i'm guessing people only see what they want

Love it when he destroyed Farage on BBCQT a few years ago, and he's shagged Katy Perry, like him.

"He's the Fox news of the far left"

It's incredible people think like that.

I reckon it's obvious to most that CNN and MSNBC are the Fox new of the far left. Just because a lot of people are waking up to main stream media and what they're about, it doesn't make them a cult.

Loon

I think he is a total cunt. His political views are sort of teen debating stuff. Being a West Ham fan he's a bit of an embarassment.

Re: Russell Brand, Legend or Loon?
As has been shown by the evidence presented to the court in the Dominion case not even Tucker Carlson agrees with "Tucker Carlson" the presenter.

Re: Russell Brand, Legend or Loon?
It's typical that younger people are idealistically left wing, but move towards the right as they mature and have more grown up responsibilities. Brand admits that he has had a slower and still yet incomplete maturing process than the average citizen.

Any encounters with him many years ago would not be the same as meeting him these days.

He is not right wing, but as the real loons are so far to the left that anything slightly to the right of Marx is extreme far right, so they throw that kind of shit at him, because he dares to find points of accord with folk on both sides of the aisle.

If he is controlled opposition, I'm not sure who is controlling him, because the things he has been banging on about of late are things that surely work against the corrupt controlling cunts that I despise.

Lee Trundle 1:12 Thu Mar 16
Re: Russell Brand, Legend or Loon?
All he said was that he found common ground with him, and agreed with him on some points.

You've got to be WAY over on the hard left to think he's in any way right wing.

yes, things multiple smaller channels and people were exposing years ago and were cancelled/deplatformed. the cunt's got almost seven million subscribers ffs (that should be a red flag to anyone with common sense), he's the establishment's acceptable rebel. he's like a hirsute joe rogan

Lily Hammer 2:03 Thu Mar 16

While I can accept the concept of controlled opposition, how can you be so sure that RB is an agent of the elite establishment? It’s hard to imagine how he is helping them by awakening so many normal folk to the dodgy methods of their propaganda.

Re: Russell Brand, Legend or Loon?
I think its always worth checking to see the way in which different people view a story. If all the media treats it the same way, be wary. If its split between two camps, be wary. If its neither of these then you need to do some harder thinking and analyse what is being said, how much you trust it and to what extent it genuinely impacts upon you or is merely another "scare" story.
